South Cave's Royal British Legion will be attending the farmers market on 12th June in preparation for their 90th Anniversary celebrations in the year 2011.
They are going to be updating local records and memorials.
If you know of anyone who lived in South Cave who has been killed in action or whilst serving in the forces between the Korean war (1950) to the present day, could you please let Kim Cooper the local Parish Clerk know. She can be contacted on 01430 421044.

The current market has FARMA accreditation which means that all products are grown or sourced locally by the stall holders. There are all sorts of products including, plants, fruit and veg, meats and fish, cheeses, crafts and drinks. The market is held on the second Saturday of every month at the local school from 9am until 1pm and has refreshments available.

A Market in South Cave
King Edward the first granted a charter to the town of South Cave to hold a market and a fair in 1291.
South Cave continued to hold a market until the 1850's.
In recent years the Parish Council has resurrected the markets using the original charter and now the popular South Cave Farmers Market is held once a month on each second Saturday at the school from 9am to 1pm.
In 2007 the market received certification from the National Association of Farm Retailers and Markets, which means products bought there are certified to have been grown and/or sourced locally.
